DIVULGE Dancers' Film Festival (DF2)
DIVULGE Dancers' Film Festival (DF2) is a unique yearly event that offers dancers, choreographers and filmmakers a chance to DIVULGE their story with both on screen and live dance performances.
There is no other film festival like it that focuses solely on promoting the stories of dancers, their impact, and the influence they have in our community, as well as reveal their creative minds portrayed through motion picture.
DF2 is poised to feature short and feature-length dance movies, dance documentary, dance videos, narrative dance videos, and music videos. It prioritizes films that are done with captivating storylines, cinematography, and creative choreography.
This year 2020, two new categories "Autobiography" and "Filmmakers on stage" are added in the featured list.
"Autobiography" is a new category exclusive for filmmakers-dancers only. The film has to tell the film director's personal story how dance enriches her/his life. It can be a narrative and/or documentary and/or a hybrid genre.
"Filmmaker on stage" is a new category exclusive for filmmakers-dancers only. The film/video must be a performance (live or edited) of the film director. It can be a solo performance and/or with other dancers. The film director, however, must be the lead role of the performance.
DF2 is in close collaboration with South Coast Dance Arts Alliance, Deborah Brockus Studio, Style Dance Industry and Klikkaus Entertainment Group. Due to the present global situation, this year's festival will be held online. The date of the event is on 11-13 December 2020. The link and more info will be posted here by 29 November. Stay informed.
Everyone welcome to this unique and vibrant dance event - The Dancers' Festival.
WHAT MAKES DF2 UNIQUE?
DF2 is the first film festival that focuses more on the dancersâ narrative stories (i.e. what dance is to them, how dance changes and enriches their lives, what sacrifices they have made for dance, etcâ¦) rather than on their artwork. There are numerous dance film festivals around the world, but this is the only one designed to focus on a dancerâs inspirations and motivations, not just their dance technique. It's a collection of both artistic and highly emotional, personal stories from dancers all around the world, shared with the audience through music, movement, and of course film.
