"I don’t know if I’m coming or going" combines pieces of found 8mm footage that broke off during projection that were then randomly assembled, hand painted, and scratched before being digitized. Audio was drawn from 15 years of research recordings, personal home movies, and random moments that take viewers from the game parks of Southern Africa to multiple European destinations.
"Andrò a ritroso della nostra corsa" is a backwards journey through the seasons and the units of the language. To change the prose of the world, its intact clock. There is always a place more thoroughly, lost images in minimum intervals.
This film was hand processed, shot on 16mm film, and created using a masking technique and appropriated images. The nine equal parts reference the Pound Symbol on a telephone keypad. Here, it is used as a symbol for connection. We are connected to more than what is immediately around ourselves: to each other, the planet, and the farthest galaxies. What distant things are having an effect on us and what are we non-visibly effecting? The similarities between these connections are represented through overlapping images. It shows a change in perspective, going from the individual singular self, to a view where there is no divide between self and other. It brings us to a cosmic, all-encompassing view, divided in space and tied together through telephone wire.
Desvanecimiento de la existencia de Victoria a través de sus recuerdos. Cortometraje construido con material de archivo y animación.
Pampa del Istmo is a place, a region or a town that only exists in this documentary, when remembered.A formal exploration about memory and it's process of constant re-writing in the context of migrating.
The ancient myth of Persephone's abduction retold through "drive with me" vlogs.
An existential drama exploring the universal themes of death and rebirth. Tape Letters from the Waiting Room is an experiment in film archaeology and magnetic memory as it navigates past life experiences. Shifting in succession from the mundane to the metaphysical, the film is composed of extant 16mm found footage from the past century. An original soundtrack by Mark Vernon encompasses a rich collection of domestic tape recordings; audio letters, dictated notes, found sounds and other lost voices.
