Level One

Three friends get together to play a video game. Each player chooses a character that represents their inner self. Once the game begins, it is almost like they are living through their video game counterparts. Will their real-life relationships change how they play? Who will win?


Us or Them

In the course of 2-minutes, "Us Or Them" brings the debate on how to address gun violence in schools powerfully center.

A woman, on the job, trained to respond instantly and violently to any threat.

[ technopoetics ]

[technopoetics] is composed of object poems and graphic poetry by the Brazilian visual artist Alexandre Dacosta. These works are part of the book [tecnopoética] (Editora 7 Letras / 2011). Written, narrated, composed, and directed by the author himself.


Guarantee of life

Abortion in the Dominican Republic is totally prohibited and criminalized by law. Guarantee of life collects testimonies from victims of this legislation to support the feminist movement in its struggle to achieve basic rights for women.


Dysthymia

The Speaker presents her case in court before an invisible judge and jury in an attempt to describe her mental health history, but it isn't always certain which part of her psyche (the sufferer or the cause) is, in fact, fighting to be understood.


Wakker (Awake)

In Wakker (Awake) the power of spoken word (written and performed by Brahma T Ramsodit) is combined with a deeper layer of cinematic storytelling, resulting in a powerful short, poetic film about finding love, but also finding yourself.

After work, a young woman is followed to her car by a mysterious man.


Santa Doesn't Need You Help

When a K-Pop Boy Band shows up to “save Christmas” it’s the last straw! So Santa must prove to the world that he can still do his job. What follows is a laugh-out-loud adventure about refusing help. Will old St. Nick discover the true meaning of Christmas? Or will he ruin everyone’s holiday because he’s too stubborn to admit when he’s wrong?


Through Gloucester's Eyes

"Through Gloucester's Eyes," a short film featuring the character from Shakespeare's "King Lear" delivered in the form of a sestina poem, looks back at Gloucester's role in the story before depicting his final moments as described by Edgar at the end of the play.
