Full Synopsis

The Experience For You

An imaginary friend and a synthetic child, a father's love for his son and a cats' eye view of life, a fight to preserve wildlife and an unleashing of spirit animals, a confrontation with a troublesome insect and a struggle with the powers of darkness, plus a symbol of creative freedom preserved in the face of oppression, in a selection of animations which suggest that truth and fable are not so far apart after all.

Film(s) To Be Screened

Butterfly & Mouse

People often say: “This one has a lion’s heart, and that one – a rabbit’s”. Some hide lions in their chests, other ones – rabbits, yet others – mice. There are also those who wouldn’t dare face their inner spirit animal. What could happen to someone so very afraid of seeing what he carries within. A short jazzy film about the fears that obstruct man's way to himself and to others.

My Other Son

Sometimes with the sons, it happens as with the drawing, they do not come out as you imagined. This is Gusti's story. A father who goes through bewilderment and denial, to the most unconditional love for his new son, upon discovering that he has Down Syndrome.

How and Why Don Jose Dissipated

A random encounter between a lazy tourist and an annoying bee develops into a mad journey into  the depths of consciousness.

Anacronte

Anacronte and the Sorcerers of Evil, without any emotion and fulfilling their destiny, put to test humanity's happiness in a struggle that, in short, has each of us as winners and losers.

MIX

A “lie” hidden within a happy-looking family. For what, for whom is this secret kept? What is important to you in this “mix” of a world? Fact or fiction? Right or wrong?

Moth

In a sleepy town where polar night never ends, time seems to froze over. The only ones awake are moths fluttering around the dim lights and a little girl who sits on the rooftop, trying to outshine the moon. Inside the house, her parents are going through the motions of everyday life. Tired and lifeless they resemble statues, made out of decaying wood. Moth tells the story of a troubled family through the eyes of 8-year-old Mabil. Emotionally neglected by her parents, she escapes to a world of fantasy inhabited by her imaginary friend seeking comfort and affection. When she is faced with her family's struggle she is forced to make a heartbreaking decision. It is a tale of loneliness, dangers of escapism and ultimately - acceptance.

The Music Box

The Great Chinese Cultural Revolution was a political campaign in China launched and led by Mao Zedong from 1966 to 1976. Nearly ten million people, including outstanding scientists, artists, intellectuals and ordinary people, died during these "Ten Years of Turnmoil" or "Ten Years of Holocaust."

This animated short film is based on a real story and sets in China during the Cultural Revolution in 1967, It is about a young boy Liang Liang, whose family is suddenly taken to the countryside by Red Guards. He is able to grab the only thing he treasures which is a western style music box, and is careful not to expose it to the red guards since it was linked to western culture.

The film mirrors tragedies that befall children and families who are forced to leave their homes, due to war, colonization and political campaigns - unfortunately a situation which is all too common today.
