The Experience For You

First love and last goodbyes,  a shaming on social media and a brutal race for survival, an uncomfortable return back to the old house, a tense relationship with a curmudgeonly grandparent and a bond that can that can transcend death itself, in a selection of international films with a focus on childhood and coming of age.

Keita is a 8-year old boy from a Belgian-Japanese family. During the summer break, he spends two weeks with his grandparents at the Flemish countryside. Keita has a difficult relationship with his grandfather and they are both put to the test when they are forced to live under the same roof.

A brother and sister aged 8 and 14, are forced to leave the place they once called home after the sudden break-up of their parents, and revisit as ‘guests’. The return is to bid farewell to their father before they move out of the city with their mother. However, they soon realize that neither their home nor their father is as it used to be.
