Melanin Pride Festival III

MPF is a celebration of non-binary, transgender, queer (LGBQIA+) Black, Indigenous, people of color (BIPOC) representation in film and visual arts. The MPF features virtual film screenings, an art exhibition, talks/panels dedicated to our experiences and narratives. Through visual storytelling and community engagement, we convene audiences around projects that foster equitable and inclusive platforms for filmmakers and creatives to effect cultural and institutional change. The MPF is produced by the Lesbians of Color Symposium (LOCS) Collective, a nonprofit grassroots organization established to create sustainable programming and services responsive to the needs of the underrepresented LBTQI+ women, non-binary Black, Indigenous, people of color (BIPOC) population and marginalized communities in Massachusetts who often experience oppression and discrimination in the workplace, schools, healthcare, financing and housing. Our symposia, forums, services and festivals foster anti-racism/bias and socioeconomic practices through education ,training, coaching and mentorship and promote equitable, inclusive environments that effect systemic structural and cultural change by eliminating barriers in access to resources. Welcome to the movement.
