Collected Voices Film Fest founder and director Ife is a visual anthropologist, documentary filmmaker, and film critic. Born into a family of artist and activist she graduated from Syracuse University with a BA in Anthropology, (06) with a minor in photography and African American History. Ife completed her MA in Visual Anthropology from the University of Manchester, UK (10) after creating a short documentary on daily life for girls in Rajasthan India. Ife has taught documentary film production at the Art Institute of Wisconsin and Facets Multimedia. Through a fellowship with Kartmequin she developed her latest project focusing on three girls and their mothers in Chicago. She also partnered with Director Shahari Moore to edit her documentary Brooks People. Through her continued grass roots work with Reel Black Filmmakers, and the historic Community Film Workshop in Chicago, she has created and hosted an Ethnographic film fest in the city of Chicago and Los Angeles.
