The Glare

A silent, 15-year-old girl is brought to a residential group of the youth welfare office on suspicion of rape. She only communicates by painting cruel pictures of sexual assault and remains an outsider despite the group's company. A roommate starts to confront her and question her story. Between the two begins a power game for the truth, which continues to worsen and never fully reveals whether the two are enemies or allies.

Three teen foster girls - Kid, Anna, and Jules - all have reasons for hating their group home. Kid is about to age out at 18 and has nowhere to go. Anna is having difficulties dealing with her hospitalized mother's recent overdose. And one of the male group home workers is sexually preying on Jules. Kid plots their escape to go in search of her biological mother, in hope of finding "home."
