Synopsis:
Sexy Dex is a wealthy young computer programmer, who still lives in the neighborhood he grew up in even though he could afford to live in Silicon Valley or anywhere else. His neighbors know him as Sexy Dex, but he’s really Dexter Montrose, a self-made millionaire who made his fortune developing video games. When he meets his neighbor’s 12-year-old son, who’s headed down the wrong path, he takes him under his wing and mentors him.

Sexy Dex is not a typical story about life in the hood. And that’s what I like about this movie.
Very rarely does the public get to see stories about black men doing good in their communities and giving back. Sexy Dex may be a handsome, successful computer programmer, but he still lives in the neighborhood he grew up in, even though he could afford to live in Silicon Valley or anywhere else. His neighbors know him as Sexy Dex, but he’s really Dexter Montrose, a self-made millionaire who made his fortune developing video games. When he meets his neighbor’s 12-year-old son, who’s headed down the wrong path, he takes him under his wing and mentors him. And that’s what takes people by surprise.
Most people, when they hear the name of the film, already think they know what the movie is about. I wanted to tell a story that would take people by surprise, and that’s what this movie does. It also shows, in a non-preachy way, that words and actions – whether good or bad – can have a profound impact on another person’s life.
I hope you enjoy watching this movie as much as everyone in the cast and crew had making it.
