Interview with Rossella

As soon as I read the short story “Interview with Rossella” I realized that an interesting and original short film could have come out of it. I felt it was a challenge worth accepting: telling a part of a woman’s life through the messages on her answering machine. However, it was a true challenge. How could I get through to the audience Rossella’s character, a character which we never see in front of the camera. How could I make the audience “feel” her presence and movements around her apartment  (the only location of the whole short film)? How could I give body to a story where – in physical terms – no character actually appears? I thought that a sequence shot was my best beta. The objects of a house change their position at each movement of the camera, and this is how the audience senses the woman’s presence and everyday movements, and the passing of time as well. And everything is highlighted by the messages which are left on the answering machine by friends and relatives.

Marco, a young skater, cruise through the buildings of Milan. He seems to have everything he could wish for: a beautiful girl by his side and friends to share his passion with. But he's looking for something else.

L'Americano

"L’Americano” tells the meeting of two stories connected with passion: the dedication of a boxer, who succeeds after sacrificing his own life to boxing, and the creativity of a barman, able to invent a cocktail with the inspiration of an artist. The film resumes the story according to which the Campari Americano is a tribute to the grandeur of Primo Carnera, reinterpreting it in a modern key, through a transposition to nowadays. It seems an evening like the others: an empty bar, the noise of the city in the background, the quiet of the closing time. But suddenly the bell rings and a living legend walks in the bar. The boxer challenges the barman asking him to be amazed with a drink. The barman accepts it and puts all of himself in the preparation of a cocktail worthy of the great boxer. A dreamlike moment in which a sound crasis makes its way: the bar and the gym merge into one place, where the concentration of the boxer is transformed into the light touch of the barman, the lemon peel sliding on the edge becomes the dry sound of the velcro of the gloves, and the power of the punches on the bag is mixed with the ice clinking inside the glass. This is the birth of “Americano”, a cocktail which has made history just like the Italian boxer who has become the Heavyweight Champion in America. The challenge is over. The boxer leaves the bar, unable to hold back the smile of someone who has found an opponent as good as him.

FINO ALLA FINE

A gunshot breaks the silence of the night. Four men run away from the scene of the crime. Umberto "Yes and no", the infallible killer of the Caputo clan, has just killed the wrong man. Now he will have to report it to the boss. Unfortunately, the victim is the nephew of Tonino O 'Infame, the city's most feared boss. But this does not seem to be the biggest problem: in fact, Umberto "Yes and no" hides a terrible secret.

99,9%

99,9%, a dark comedy that deals with the problem of waste and its sensitization in a thriller key. ANDREA (Achille Marciano) is a man who has made his life his obsession. Respect for the environment and recycling of waste are his daily mission, responsibility that has driven him away from reality and pushed himself to lock himself up until the arrival of the new neighbor, PASQUALE (Amedo Andreozzi), southern, with a sensitivity to the problem of waste completely non-existent, which, unknowingly, will put Andrea in front of a society careless towards nature. This will lead the protagonist to a macabre decline, where the unfortunate neighbor will pay the consequences.

Giacomo and Samuele grew up together in a small province of southern Italy. Over time their strong friendship has turned into something more. But they live in a culture that will not accept their relationship.

Storia triste di un pugile scemo (The Loony Boxer)

The brain of a five-year-old child in 110 kilos of muscles: Pino is an immense dumb boxer. He has the build to win, but he is better off to lose. His mother made him the boxer who falls on command, for the joy of those in Rome who manipulate gambling. Pino obeys his mother and she obeys clandestine bookmakers in a perfect mechanism. A mechanism that jams when Pino decides for the first time that he wants to win.

An intellectual dress style man is shopping at the supermarket. After he bought the essential goods, he moves toward the refrigerated section to choose the yogurt to buy. The man realizes with amazement that each one of the yogurt cups has stamped on it the name of a religion instead of the yogurt brand…
